The Broken Hill Local Environmental Plan 1996 (as amended) controls land use and development within the Local Government Area. Council's Development approval is generally required for most commercial activities, the change of use (of land or buildings), home businesses, signage, horse stables, subdivision, demolition and so on. You should contact Council's Environmental Services Division to check if a Development Application is required for your project.
